You’ve come to the homepage of Prof. Joel Mackay and Prof. Jacqui Matthews. Together with Dr Ann Kwan, we run labs focused on protein structure and function, as well as protein design and engineering. We have a special interest in the mechanisms underlying gene transcription.
At the moment, we are also trying to set a record for the most nationalities in a lab – recently, we have entertained people from NZ, England, S. Africa, Hong Kong, Austria, Germany, Spain, India, Finland, Singapore, Serbia, Czech, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Denmark, Portugal, Mexico, France, Brazil, Turkey, Sweden, The Netherlands, the US of A, Iran and Pakistan – as well as a few garden variety Australians for good measure.
